A supportive, PTFE-coated, stainless steel proximal shaft adds the body needed to push the wire. The combination of a stainless steel proximal shaft with the shape-resistant ELASTINITE material distal core gives the HI-TORQUE Balance Middleweight UNIVERSAL Guide Wire the ability to retain excellent torque transmission in tortuosity providing excellent steering.

Enhanced Device Compatibility
The coils of the working area of the guide wire have been replaced by a polymer cover in order to enhance device compatibility. The distal segment of the wire has an outer diameter of .0135".
